Abstract 3D adventure game

Afternoon Spaghetti is a free 3D adventure game created by indie developer Shelf. A pay-what-you-can, first-person game, it boasts an artful abstract 3D map. It features a colorful rotund character whom you will need to help in making his afternoon spaghetti meal. Note, however, that this is not a cooking game. Instead of preparing the meal, you will need to explore the house to look for an ingredient. 

Find the cheese

Afternoon Spaghetti has a very simple premise. As noted, you will need to help the main character in cooking his spaghetti by locating the ingredient. However, you don’t need to get all ingredients. You only need to get the cheese from the fridge—and this is where the actual game starts. The fridge holds more than the food. It also leads to an art exhibit well beyond your house. You only need to get past the toilet, though. 

The exhibit holds various artworks, including paintings and sculptures. Like a real-life exhibit, the display shows the artists, as well as the art description. You can roam around the room to see all the art display. In fact, roaming the room is recommended since you can actually find the cheese in one of the displays. Once you found the cheese, you can go back to the house or stay to explore more. 

Like its gameplay, the controls are simple. Using the WASD keys on your keyboard, you can move around the entire game map. Meanwhile, you can use your mouse to look closer into the displays. To interact with an item, you can use the E key. However, the items you can interact with are very limited. You will need to wait if the letter E appears on your screen to see if you can hold the item or not. 

Aesthetically-pleasing but short

From the landscape to the art exhibit, everything in Afternoon Spaghetti is pleasing to the eyes. The fun in this 3D game is actually in its design rather than its gameplay. However, it is very short. Once you find the cheese and bring it to the abstract character, the game is done. If you don’t want to go exploring art, you can finish this game in minutes.
